Resort to Floral Embellishments!

Just like last year's resort collections, this year too designers have included 3D flower embellishments in their collections. But this time, instead of the big size flowers, more of small flowers have been seen concentrated in substantial quantity on skirts, dresses and jackets. I have always admired simple silhouettes with intricate surface designs and that is exactly what Resort 2015 has to offer. Flowers always look fresh and pretty, when they blossom off bodices as appliqués and rendered in lush fabrics. Blooming in flower power gives you that sweetness and incredibly feminine look. Whether it be pastel or bold colours, they'll look exemplary for garden parties and brunches.

Reminiscing Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta died yesterday at the age of 82 after battling long with cancer. It's a great loss to the fashion industry, as he was amongst the finest of the designers of this century. Originally from Dominican Republic, De la Renta has worked at great fashion houses namely, Balenciaga, Lanvin, Dior, and Elizabeth Arden. His designs have been a favorite on the red carpet, of Hollywood A-listers, the Royalties and first ladies. He truly knew how to make a woman look beautiful. Some of my favorite designs from the collections he had showcased over the seasons are below.
